I'm 100% behind you here. I feel hopeless and bewildered when I'm asked to vote, because I should be thinking what's good for everyone, or at the very least for majority of people - not the few who share my whatever ideologies and fantasies and whatnot because I know they're pipedreams that don't work in real world. Yet, people utilize and mobilize surprisingly great forces to drive stuff that doesn't really matter when it comes to, say, keeping people in good health or making sure our deteriorating youngsters get some proper education. Nonono, we have to make sure our employer doesn't read the subject fields in our emails or we have to positively absolutely make sure UTF-8 becomes a national standard, come hell or high water, because that's what matters.

Seriously, what the hell? I want to vote for sanity, not things blown out of proportion by this "OMG I CAN SHOUT MY VOICE OUT I CAN CHANGE THINGGS" movement. People are on a powertrip because they have a channel to make themselves heard. Masses who are listening haven't developed a sanity check filter yet, and it'll all end in lots of facepalms in the future.
